Breakers get more action from Jackson

Published: 7:57PM Friday August 03, 2012 Source: ONE Sport

The Breakers have confirmed what appeared to be an unlikely scenario at the end of the 2011-2012 season - the re-signing of point guard Cedric "Action" Jackson.

Jackson has confirmed that he will be returning to the Breakers, backing up a debut season where he was the club's MVP, was close to securing the NBL MVP honour and was named in the NBL All Star 5.

Jackson has spent the off season working with a number of NBA teams, including playing for the San Antonio Spurs in the Las Vegas NBA Summer League.

"We knew that Cedric wanted to do everything he could to put himself in the frame for an NBA call up, and supported him completely in that goal" said Breakers General Manager Richard Clarke.

"We also wanted him to know that if he didn't get there he had a home here.

"We have a good relationship with his agents and were able to put a deal in place to that effect, and that deal has now been confirmed.

"We are all excited to have Ced back for another season."

Jackson and fellow import Will Hudson will arrive in Auckland in late August, prior to the commencement of the Breakers pre-season in September.
