Fresh from being named the Australian NBL player of the month for November, New Zealand Breakers import Cedric 'Action' Jackson has taken out yet another honour after being named the player of the week for Round 11.
Jackson becomes the first player to have won the weekly award three times in season 2012/13, having previously taken player of the week in rounds six and nine.
The talented American guard scored 32 points and added eight assists, five rebounds and three steals in yet another superb all-round performance as the Breakers scored a home 97-76 victory over the Cairns Taipans on Thursday night.
Jackson made an amazing 11-of-13 shots from the field at 85%, including 2-of-3 three-pointers, and 8-of-12 freethrows.
The dynamic point guard scored 16 points in the second quarter alone to almost single-handedly set up the Breakers ninth win of the season and launch the defending two-time NBL champions back to the top of the ladder.
Jackson beat out Melbourne Tigers duo Chris Goulding and Jonny Flynn for the Round 11 honours.
Goulding scored a game-high 27 points as well as adding two assists and two rebounds as the Tigers surged to their third win of the season with an 83-77 home victory over the Cairns Taipans on Sunday. Goulding scored 17 points in the second period to spark a Tigers run that saw them flip the game on its head.
Goulding's teammate Jonny Flynn then helped bring the game home for Melbourne, as he added 20 points, six assists, five rebounds, one steal and three blocked shots.
Other contenders for Player of the Week in Round 11 included Rhys Martin (Wollongong), Jamar Wilson (Cairns), Ian Crosswhite Sydney), Darnell Lazare (Sydney), Mike Dunigan (Perth), Luke Schenscher (Adelaide) and Gary Ervin (Townsville).
