Detroit Pistons guard Allen Iverson will be sidelined for the next two weeks with a sore back, the team announced Thursday.

Iverson was examined by doctors at Washington's Georgetown University, who recommended the 10-times All-Star suspend all basketball related activities during that time, the team said.

The 33-year-old guard will not travel with the team to prevent stress on his back and will be re-evaluated at Georgetown in two weeks, the Pistons said in a release.

Iverson is averaging 18 points a game for the Pistons, who are 30-29 and in sixth place in the Eastern Conference.
