Breakers swingman Tom Abercrombie is set to represent the
Breakers in the Australian NBL Slam Dunk Competition at the All
Star Game in Adelaide next month.
Abercrombie was unveiled in the five man field for the competition which takes place immediately prior to the North v South game on December 22.
Hometown hero Mitch Creek of the Adelaide 36ers, who came to national prominence as a junior player after he posted video of himself performing a jaw-dropping array of dunks on YouTube, will be the local hope to take the title.
Athletic Melbourne Tigers forward Lucas Walker is also slated to participate in the competition while Sydney Kings import Darnell Lazare and fellow American Lance Hurdle of the Wollongong Hawks will add some international flavour.
Adelaide 36ers big man Pero Vasiljevic has been named as a reserve for the competition should any of the five-man field be forced to withdraw due to injury.
The field for the event was determined by the League office based on nominations from each club.
The Slam Dunk Competition will be held over two rounds, with the top two participants after the preliminary round as scored by the panel of judges advancing to a head-to-head final showdown for the title. The Slam Dunk Competition judging panel will be made up of a group of NBL legends.
