Back Benches summer tour
TVNZ 7's Back Benches leaves the big smoke over summer and is on tour in the South Island, beginning in Queenstown and then winding up through Akaroa, Kaikoura and Nelson.
Every Wednesday, Back Benches is normally filmed live in the Backbencher pub across the street from Parliament, and is hosted by self-professed politics junkies Wallace Chapman and Damian Christie. Chapman and Christie moderate the discussion from the floor of the pub, as ministers and mavericks rub shoulders with skaters and spectators.
If you're on holiday in any of the locations and looking for a break from the BBQs and drinking it's well worth heading along to be part of the exciting Back Benches pub politics mix (though technically you'll be at a pub so probably still drinking involved!). Times and locations are:
Queenstown - filming Thursday 13 January at 8pm at
the Pig and Whistle
Akaroa - filming Saturday 15 January at 7pm at the Madeira
Hotel
Kaikoura -filming Thursday 20 January at 8pm at Adelphi
Nelson - filming Saturday the 22 January at 8pm at The
Freehouse
The episodes will screen on TVNZ 7 from mid-January.
