Damian Christie
Damian Christie is a broadcaster and writer. Born and currently
living in Auckland, he studied law at Victoria University and
briefly practiced before focusing on journalism and writing.
With 15 years experience in radio and print, Damian has worked in
television for the past 6 years (Flipside,
Sunday,
Close Up), and currently
co-hosts TVNZ 7's Back Benches and works as a producer/reporter on
TV ONE's flagship political show
Q+A.
He is a regular contributor to Metro magazine and in recent years
has filed stories from as far abroad as Afghanistan, Pakistan,
Laos, Indonesia, Korea and Upper Hutt. In 2005 he was the
recipient of the prestigious Reuters Journalism Fellowship to
Oxford University.
He is a founding contributor to the award-winning blogsite
publicaddress.net and co-hosts
Public Address Radio on Radio Live - which this year won Best Radio
Show (spoken) at the New Zealand Radio Awards.
In his spare time, Damian enjoys photography and scuba diving -
both preferably in exotic locations.
