Milda Emza on Asia Downunder

Originally from Indonesia, Milda is a bubbly presence in the office and always has a smile on her face. Milda comes from a varied television background. Her role as a presenter in Indonesia started with live sports programmes for the national private television station RCTI.

She has also done sports reporting and commentating for the Tour de France, Barcelona Olympics, Wimbledon and Tennis French Open.

After a few years working in sports programmes, Milda accepted an offer from a leading women's magazine "Femina", to present "Fokus Feminin" for the rival national private television station SCTV. To go from sports to feminism seemed quite contradictory, but Milda says it was a great opportunity.

Her experience in such roles reflects Milda's nature; she can be sporty but also feminine. Her interests include martial arts, scuba diving and outdoor activities. Outside of work she enjoys biking and roller-blading with her daughter. Milda has a BA in French Literature from the University of Indonesia.

Milda enjoys working on compassionate stories the most but anything that is colourful gets top marks too. Indonesia has more than 300 ethnic groups across the archipelago, and Milda admits that working with Asia Downunder for the past 8 years has taught her a great deal about cultural diversity and all the issues related to it.
