Dagg began multihull racing in 2011, competing in both Extreme Sailing Series and America's Cup world series regattas.

Joined Team New Zealand in 1996 as specialist trimmer. He was part of the successful defence in 2000, and returned in 2003 and 2007.

Dagg trimmed for the team throughout the Louis Trophy regattas, and raced NZL380 in the successful 2009 and 2010 MedCup campaigns.
