The former New Zealand under-19 captain, who was part of the 2011
World Cup winning All Blacks squad, burst on to the national scene
during the 2008 IRB World Series Sevens circuit when he rampaged to
the winning try to secure the Wellington leg for New Zealand. Fast
and powerful, Vito was initially touted as a wing three
wing-quarter in the 15 aside game but he quickly showed for
Wellington and the Hurricanes that he has the hunger and work-rate
to be a successful loose forward. But what sets Vito apart from his
peers is an unquantifiable X-factor that the All Blacks coaches
will be hoping he can deliver on the international stage.
