The rampaging Owen Franks is quickly developing into one of New
Zealand's finest ever props. While he is solid at scrum time, it is
his explosive output in general play that sets him apart. The
former under-21 representative showed strong form in the 2009 Super
14 season for the Crusaders and soon after made his Test debut
against Italy, coming off the bench. In the 2010 season he made the
tighthead his own and was a key part of the All Blacks' 2011 Rugby
World Cup winning squad. For good measure, his older brother Ben is
also an All Black regular and both can bench press 140 kilograms
plus.
