The injury plagued hooker has fought back from numerous injury setbacks to once again be in the All Blacks' squad. The powerful ball running hooker had a strong campaign for the New Zealand Maori in 2010 to make the Tri Nations squad before injury prevented him going on the end of year tour. Another strong campaign with the Crusaders in 2011 elevated him back into black for the 2011 Tri Nations.
