About the show:

Airways is TV2's new fly-on-the-wall comedic factual programme following the ups and downs of travel on Australian budget airline Tiger Airways.

In this unprecedented look at the day-to-day running of a budget airline in Australia, all the stress and joy of travel come together as staff and passengers deal with everything from misplaced luggage, delayed flights, proposals and even a wedding during a typical day at the airport and in the skies.

Airways host Corinne Grant says of her experiences with air travel, "It's always best to try and keep yourself nice: dont yell at the staff, dont fall asleep and miss your flight and dont get a bunch of your friends together and start a riot in the departure gate."

Crews filmed the series from airports in Melbourne, Coolangatta, Rockhampton, Mackay, Adelaide, Launceston, Hobart and Alice Springs.

Executive producer Lyndal Marks says, " Airways will provide the viewer with pure entertainment. There's comedy, drama and mystery in every episode as real Australians tackle the intricacies of travel.

"Most of the time, it all goes so smoothly. But when it doesn't, our cameras have captured some extraordinary moments.

"Delays can play havoc with your stress levels, as most travellers know, and this provides the fodder for some highly-charged emotional moments.

"The absurdities captured by our cameras are things which happen on all airlines, but Tiger Airways had the confidence, and a good dose of humour, to allow us to film warts and all."

Tiger Airways consumer communications manager Vanessa Regan says, "Our staff had a fabulous time filming this programme and very much look forward to seeing themselves on TV.

"Some are happy that viewers will gain a better understanding of their work and see how hard they work to ensure customer satisfaction."
