About Matt Gibb
Matt Gibb has been working in and around television for 9 years
now, and doesn't want to stop any time soon!
He moved to Dunedin in 2000 and took up a role as the host of
the popular Saturday morning show 'Squirt' (alongside an animated
virtual penguin called Spike!). "I loved living and working in
Dunedin, even when the loo froze over ..."
In 2004 Matt moved up to Auckland to help launch the live afternoon
TV2 show 'Studio2', which he still hosts today. "Studio 2 is
in it's 6th year, and it's been an amazing ride! It's given
me the chance to do so many crazy things and meet some talented New
Zealanders along the way".
Having the chance to work on Activate this year has been awesome
for Matt, and educational as well!
"With Activate being so focused on healthy eating and maintaining a
healthy lifestyle, it's been a great chance for me to have a look
at how I live!".
Since filming Activate, Matt's signed up at his local gym! "It
was funny, I was the one quizzing the contestants on the show, but
at the same time I think I was probably the one learning the most
from the whole process!"
Matt has a pretty hectic schedule these days, with filming a live
show every afternoon as well as working behind the scenes on
Studio2 as a director, but when he has spare time he enjoys a range
of sports including golf, tennis, cricket and indoor
netball.
He's also an avid Vodafone Warriors fan, and a radio DJ!
