2010 World Cup qualifying campaign:
Slovenia were a surprise qualifer after drawing a group that
included Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia. After placing second
behind Slovakia, Slovenia advanced to a two leg play off
against Russia. Russia won the first game 2-1, but Slovenia took
the second 1-0 and advanced on aggregate.
