This week on 20/20
Thursday 8th September 2011, 9.30pm TV2
Don't miss 20/20 - the best of New Zealand and international Current Affairs with reporters, Emma Keeling, Hannah Ockelford, Erin Conroy and Sonya Wilson.
Brave Faces
Doctors are often the last people you want to see, but spend a week alongside some of our top surgeons at Middlemore Hospital's burns unit and you'll understand why their patients are more grateful than most.
You'll remember the Tamahere Cool store fire a few years back; 20/20 talks to a fireman who was pulled from the blaze with horrific burns and literally no face.
And an update on Belinda McKenzie, from a past 20/20 story, she's still reconstructing her face after a terrible house fire.
Two extraordinarily brave people, with two extraordinary stories.
Road to Ruin
Was it an accident or a suicide attempt at 130kmh?
Justine Winter was a 16-year-old straight-A student with a bright future.
But one night, after breaking up with her boyfriend, she texted him to say that she wanted to kill herself. Just a few minutes later, her car collided with another vehicle carrying Erin Thompson and Erin's 13-year-old son, Caden.
Both were killed instantly. Miraculously, Justine survived, only to be charged as an adult with two counts of homicide. But is that what really happened?
Living Lucky
Is it possible to make a living from entering competitions? 20/20 meets a group of people that spend hours and hours a day entering sweepstakes and online competitions.
Fridges, holidays, iPads and cash are just some of the things the mail man delivers on a weekly, sometimes daily basis. Are they competition junkies or just living lucky?
