Bethany Babes:

These days being a solo mum is nothing out of the ordinary.

But just a few decades ago an unmarried pregnant woman brought shame, gossip, and disgrace to her family.

The Bethany centre was the place to go to have your baby, and have it adopted out. It's been a safe haven for young mums since 1913, but now it's getting ready to close its doors for good.

Erin Conroy asks, where will these women go now? 20/20 meets the last Bethany babies and their mums.

American Idol:

American Idol, New Zealand Idol, even Australia's had a few idols.

Then there's America's Got Talent, so has the UK. Many singing hopefuls have launched a career on these shows, but Kelly Clarkson was the first, the 2002 American Idol.

This week the tiny Texan launched her fifth album, "Stronger". 20/20's Emma Keeling meet up with Kelly and found out that even being a star doesn't guarantee you can find a boyfriend.

Brave Hearts:

20/20 travels to Pine Ridge Indian reservation where some of the proudest Americans, living in unthinkable conditions, refuse to be defeated.

A young girl filled with "American Idol" dreams, yet facing a life-changing reality; a high school quarterback whose strength and spirit knows no bounds, and has dreams of one day being the President of the United States of America.

The best of New Zealand and international current affairs - 20/20 - with reporters Emma Keeling, Hannah Ockelford, Erin Conroy and Sonya Wilson.
