After the efforts and support of so many people who have helped Jason and Helena since Jason's terrible accident they want to say a huge thank you to them all, this is their message.

Firstly we want to reflect on the amazing effort of the many people involved in extracting Jason from the accident scene, the Dargaville Fire Brigade, St Johns Ambulance, Dargaville Police, Northpower Rescue Helicopter, Dargaville Medical Centre, Whangarei Hospital, Douglas Logging staff, our staff, friends and Jason's family.  You all worked frantically, and the time it took to get Jason out was difficult on you all, especially dealing with the injury you came face to face with, but your efforts certainly helped to save Jason and his leg.

With Jason's accident happening at work we have a lot of appreciation for our team of guys and Jason's family who helped rescue him, then took on the task of running our business a few days later.  Darrel and Colin did a brilliant job taking over management of staff and clients.  And Jason's family also stepped into the business with Phil becoming the mechanic, and Blair came to drive our digger that Jason usually did.  Even while in ICU Jason was worried about his clients, so everyone in the family chipped in to help out wherever required, even when they were busy with their own work.  We also appreciated the offers of help by locals.

While Jason was in hospital there was a lot of support for Helena while away from home for two months, from meals being organising when coming home briefly each week, family looking after Max on numerous occasions, especially in the first couple of weeks after the accident.  The wonderful generosity of John and Barb, who helped with a place to stay.  Family and friends traveling to Auckland to be with Helena and to help.  Also Helena's employer the National Bank was extremely supportive, and we thank them so much for this.

We can not thank enough, Murray Beagley and his team at Middlemore Hospital for the effort and skill they put into saving Jason's leg, we will forever be grateful.  The care given by the ICU in the first couple of days was tremendous, and the Burns Unit, you are a wonderful team of people.

We know life will never be the same again, and Jason will always have limitation, but he is determined go on to the best of his abilities, which Murray and his team have made possible.  We are grateful to have great family and friends, and two lovely children that make it easier to move forward.

There were many people who did something for us and we thank you all for your support, well wishes, visits, cards, phone calls and the lovely baking.

Jason, Helena and family.
