The Warriors jersey worn by Manu Vatuvei in a 20/20 story on him
last year has raised $305 for the victims of Haiti's
earthquake.
Vatuvei wore the replica jersey in 20/20's story
"Beauty and the Beast" last year and all money
raised from the Trade Me auction will be donated to the children of
earthquake devastated Haiti.
Vatuvei, who was recently voted to represent the Warriors in the
NRL All Stars Team in Australia this month, signed the jersey with
the words "thanks 4 your support" in the middle of it. It is a
size 2XL
The idea to auction the shirt came about after Manu signed the
jersey and gave it to the 20/20 team after the shoot last year.
Since then many people have lobbied to own it but reporter Beth
Roche thought it should be used to raise money for a good
cause.
After the Haiti earthquake Beth asked Manu if he'd be okay
about it being auctioned with the money going to the children of
Haiti - he was totally in to it.
20/20 is back on air with a special edition on March 18.
